Early years of his martial arts journey:
- Started martial arts at age 9
- At age 17 began competing as an adult, went on to win 4 world titles in karate
- At age 20 became part of the Paul Mitchell Karate Team, one of world’s best karate teams
- That same year opened his first karate school where he trained his students. His students competed and won several international championships
- Professor earned his 4th degree black belt in karate
- He was inducted into the International Martial Arts Hall of Fame by the one and only Chuck Norris
- Considered by many as one of the of the best sport karate competitors of all time
MMA & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey:
- Began training MMA & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2009
- 2012-2014 fought 3 pro MMA fights, in his last fight he won by TKO in 45 seconds in the 1st rounds, he was 42 years old at the time
- 2014 Professor was a blue belt in jiu jitsu, he began competing at the majority of IBJJF(International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) tournaments here in Texas winning the majority of them
- He continued his win streak at purple winning his weight and open weight class divisions
- 2017 received his brown belt, the following March he went to his first Pan American Championship and won gold. In August of the same year he won gold at the Master’s World Championship, he received his black belt on the podium
- As a black belt he continued winning gold in his division. He won bronze at the No Gi World Championship and silver at the Pan American Championships.
